TL;DR: I like taking pictures of space. After YEARS of putting off getting into this hobby... I bought a Seestar S30 smart telescope in 2025. It is awesome: put it outside, select a space object from my phone, and wait a few hours. Editing was from my phone: take the stacked image output, run AI denoise (Seestar app), and touch up in Photos app. I wanted to do more: remove satellite trails, stack images myself, process photos on a computer to get the most out of the data. The more I tried, the harder it was to get high quality images out of the Seestar. I bought a traditional astrophotography rig in 2026, going with ZWO ASIAIR since my Seestar user experience was great. WOW, ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY IS HARD. Gone are the days of set it and forget it. Polar alignment?! Mount calibration?! Focusing?! Cables?! Pre-processing?! POST-PROCESSING?! Thanks to YouTube, I've been able to figure out most of it. Broadband: I'm ok. Narrowband: I'm currently struggling with a duel-band one-shot color workflow in PixInsight that's SHO Hubble pallet. I think I'm 90% there but it's frustrating so I've taken many breaks. I have a TON of data to process once I get my workflow ironed out. Thanks for checking out my page!
