A four pane mosaic over 6 nights in June and July 2025. The Cosmic Bat is a dark cloud about 1,400 light-years distant in Ophiuchus. Its dense dust blocks background stars, creating a silhouette against the Milky Way. In the clouds, knots of material collapse under gravity, sparking the formation of new stars, notably the young stars RNO 90 and 91, surrounded by dusty disks.
