You're very welcome. It's our way of letting people see the quality of our data for themselves. This exact same data set will be made available by Ed Thomas for prospective customers of the DSP Remote site as well which is where this was taken.

I have tried to obtain this free data but unable to. Not sure if I need to wait for an email or not but when it finished downloading im unable to open it saying it's invalid or empty

This should not occur, as the data is hosted on Amazon S3 and is served out of Virginia.

Bill  - I tried downloading the data  twice. Both times Microsoft said zipped file invalid. Maybe you should look into it if you want any more processing examples. Try downloading and unzipping yourself.

Would've been better if you just provided a google drive link instead of making people give personal information on your website

I downloaded the file and it unzips properly:

Well, thats the trade-off for the free data. This is a common practice among sites that sell data and/or hosting. We also trust Amazon's S3 service (which is where all of our data is stored and provided from) moreso than Google Drive.

Hi all,

Here is my approach of the free and very clean data awarded with Top Pick Nomination and provided by @Bill Long - Dark Matters Astrophotography (thank you very much!)
I dont have any problem with sharing my personal information on astrofoto dedicated web site (even if the personal information mostly only "personal" is)

Bill –    The problem with the zip file appears to be that it never downloads completely. I have tried many times and get file sizes from 295megs to 368.  I don't know what the file size should be, but  if the file isn't complete, it certainly will not unzip. I  rebooted my computer several times, and tried using Microsoft Edge instead of my usual Firefox. Every time I download the files, I get a different sized zip file. I haven't ever experienced problems unzipping files until now ,  and others seem to be having similar problems. Perhaps Amazon somehow  is to blame. I appreciate what you are doing, and have continued pursuing this issue so others can use the files as a learning experience.

It's a little over 1GB in size. There's thousands of successful downloads of this data so I think things are fine on the S3 side. If you're using VPN provider, that could be causing some issues? Just a guess.

Thank you very much for this wonderful data set!

I also tried it once, the first time for me with mono data.
Kind regards, Markus

Thank you very much for the Data.

The only regret in my life is that i downloaded Bill's data in the past with so many setups but it is gone due to a virus or ransomed hack, i wish to get that data back, it is big files with several setup he was using back in the future, it was nice a big reference for me, but i know he will not put it back again somewhere to download free, but it is ok, i keep going, i got enough data around, and this one here is nice one.

Bill — I am from a region outside of US and it's showing an error while checking out. Could you once check this issue. I would love to get your generous offering. Thank You very much in advance for the dataset.

This has been downloaded successfully from all over the world at this point. What error are you encountering?
