Have 2 nights of data on ngc1333, looking for tips on how to process,

1. rgb data - have a lot of gradients due to light pollution. This is causing me to have a colour cast issue after using DBE to eliminate gradients.

2. Processing luminance data for dark nebula

thanks for any help!

1. Check out graXpert – free program that makes gradients a bit easier to tame than DBE.

2. I'm still somewhat new to this myself but creating some depth with different brightness levels for different cloud layers has been the best approach for me. GHS is a great help with this along with some photoshop adjustments.

Requires a paid membership to view, but for everything else you get, well worth the price of admission.

Cheers,

I second the use of GraXpert. I live really close to New a York City and get nasty gradients even with NB filters. DBE can get most of the job done but can take allot of work. With GraXpert I. so mode a single click and the gradient is gone. I love it !!
