Hey y'all!

I recently moved, and have no real convenient place to set up my scope anymore, so I'll have to travel. I'm going to need a power tank for my mount (GoTo SkyView Pro). Any recommendations?

I recently built a power tank using a tool box , a car battery (40 Ah) and some accessories purchased on amazon (electric sockets, switch, voltmeter and so on). My mount is Skywatcher EQ6 and it's all right

What's your setup like? Are you powering your laptop, too?

I started with one lawnmower battery… Didn't get me through the whole night, very long time to charge. Ended up with 3 in parallel and it gets me about 1.5-2 nights depending on slewing. I have a Losmandy G11, heavy OTA, Pegasus Powerbox running two ASI cameras (one cooled), focuser, filter wheel, dew strips. Iirc, I average 10-12A/night in the summer on the Powerbox, alone. The mount and laptop take up considerably more, especially if I have the laptop open- screen on- for any significant amount of time.

I'm soon moving to 3x 54Ah LiFePO4 from Dakota- they're sure to get me through several nights without recharging. I just didn't have extra funds for a lithium battery when I purchased the lead acid lawnmower type, but if you do, I highly recommend considering at least one, between 20-50Ah @ 12V if you're considering something that lasts. Minimal imaging over the past two years and my three lead acids are just about done. Certainly wasn't worth the investment, but they brought me what I needed in a pinch. Heavy suckers, too.

Let us know what you go with, and how you came to your decision?

Good health and clear skies,
Jacob
