I have an AT60ED and got an APEX-S via CN.  I have an ASI 533MC-Pro camera and I'd like to hook it all up for a widefield beast.

Under the specs, 350-450mm native focal length requires 60mm of backfocus.  The AT60ED has a 54mm focuser thread, but in a pinch I could just use the 2"-visual configuration and slide the APEX-S into the focuser tube.  Or, at least I hope the smallish 11.3mm x 11.3mm sensor size means less tilt issues.

My spacers that came with the camera will get me out to 55mm.  I need 5mm more, but I also need to go from the spacers' 48mm threads to the APEX's 42mm threads.

What's the best solution to hook everything up?

Also, with the small sensor size of the 533, how close is close enough in terms of spacing?  +/- how many millimeters?

Incidentally, my AT60ED is currently used with its dedicated 0.8X reducer for 288mm @ f/4.8.  My plan is to eventually pick up an AT72EDII/equivalent and with an APEX-S get roughly the same focal length, only at a screaming-fast f/3.9 (281mm with AT72EDII + APEX).

I live in Ohio.  As few clear (and smokeless; PUT YOUR FIRES OUT, CANADA!!!!) nights as I get around here, I need the quickest gulps of light I can afford.

Clear Skies,
Phil
