Hi,

For imaging the sun in white light, which one giving better details or contrast, the Wedge or the film [or foil if you call it]?

It will be used with any scope from 40mm up to maybe 200mm aperture.

They have entirely different and at times not commutable areas of application: the wedge is probably the best if of good quality but it only works (safely) with refractors while the Baader Solarfilm works with everything but has slightly less contrast, at least visually.

Not double post, but i posted in two different places here to get more members reading so maybe more answers, wasn't thinking to post it in same forum or group twice.

Ok, so maybe for my small scopes say refractors i better use the wedge, while for my big scopes mainly reflectors i go with a solar film, but the answer itself showing that if using each on a scope nd same camera then the wedge will have the edge in contrast better.

Thank you
