How to combine more filters with l-enhance

Currently using: Redcat 51 + Colour ASI 533 + Optolong L-enhance filter + Pixinsight .... to achieve  the Hubble Pallet.

Worklfow is based around:
Channel Extraction - R G B
Create new B channel = (r*0.6) + (g*0.4)
LGRB Combination using: L=r R=r G=b B=g

Image included of what I can do with the above.

However 3 questions, in trying how to further use Colour filters -

QUESTION 1:
I also have a L-Pro filter is there any way I can add that in for my Luminance channel ? If so would I Channel Extract the Luminance image and then just use the R channel in place of 'r' for my Luminance in LGRB Combination ?

QUESTION 2:
Would I gain anything by using "Askar ColourMagic 6nm OIII/SII Duo Band D2 Filter" .... in LGRB combination which channel would I replace the OIII/SII with from this filter, instead of that channel from the L-Enhance filter ?

QUESTION 3: Without going to Mono .. I guess I'm trying to understand what RBG filters I can use in combination to add depth / colours to my images further.

Many Thanks !

Regarding your questions:
  1. Yes, you could use the L-Pro to get obtain more luminance data, but with a narrowband target like this, you won't get any more usable light/signal.
  2. From what I can gather from other sources, there is very little SII in IC1396 - it's mostly OIII and Ha, so you may not be able to get that much out of it either.
  3. Especially for broadband targets, L-Pro will help, since it's just a more restricted luminance filter. I have used it in combination with L-eXtreme on galaxies with good results - especially with my sky quality. It won't help you with IC1396 though.

In general, it looks like you'll just need more integration time (there is no shortcut) and maybe a narrower filter (L-eXtreme or similar) to get better contrast.

you could use  HA + RGB  ,where  HA is L enhance and  RGB  is L  PRO
exp   m31 andromeda using l pro data  + HA  data  from l enhance

The ColourMagic 6nm OIII/SII would allow you to get real Sii along with Oiii data.  In processing you would split the RGB channels of that data.  The red would be your S2.  The green would be your Oiii.  You can toss the blue data.

Then with your L enhance, do the same thing, except the red in this case would be Ha.

Then you can make classic hubble palette images by putting the sii in red, the Ha in green and the Oiii in blue.

This does work.. just not as efficient as going mono.

All depends your tastes. Your image looks really nice as is.
I recently did a repro on my IC1396 using a similar methodology as you, but in the end, I used yellow and blue masks (Bill Blanshan) to give it more pop.
Note: I’m using the same camera and filter.
Might or might not me your cup of tea.

I purchased the Askar D2 (Sii and Oiii) 6nm filter to combine with data from my L Extreme using exactly this method. Only problem is, the Askar filters are poorly quality controlled. I got Cuiv the Lazy Geek to test mine and the results were disappointing. Reasonably on-band for Oiii, but certainly not for Sii. And the bandpass is considerably wider than the 6nm advertised. So I have returned my filter for a full refund.

I use L-Enhance and SII filter on the ASI 294MC camera, under my polluted sky (bortle 8) a broadband filter is not performing.
With the APP software i extract from L-Enhance frames, three pictures: RGB (Ha + OIII), Ha and OII.
In Photoshop i boosted the R channel with Ha, the G channel with OII and the B channel with OII and so i got a HOO image. I can also using Ha + OIII like L channel.
If i create a new image and in R channel i copy SII frame, in G channel i copy Ha frame and in B Channel i copy OIII frame i obtain a SHO image, and also i can boost that with L frame.
And more integration is my cup of tea

i recommend in bortle 8 , 9   optolong ultimate , because it is 3NM , im  in SQM 16,85 ,( bortle maybe 10 jejeje), i already switched to MONO  and  3nm , to help against the LP
