Which mono camera to go from after the vTEC 533c camera?

Hello everyone,

I have a question about going from osc to mono, which camera should I go to? I've been using the Omegon veTEC 533c camera for a bit and had gotten quite used to the 533 sensor. That's why I've been thinking of going the mono 533 route such as the asi or ares-m even.

My scope is a 250pds (254/1200), with good average seeing at around 1.3". I thought about going the asi185mm way as I have quite a few nights with even better seeing, but I didn't quite like the oldness of the sensor as well as its low full well capacity.

What do you guys think I should do?

Thank you for your time and clear skies!

I assume price is a factor? The 250pds should cover an APS-C size sensor. Is the ASI2600MM an option?

Ah right yeah, that's a bit too expensive for me. Up to 2000 euro I'd be willing. :c

The RisingCam (ToupTek/Altair) IMX571-based cameras should fit the bill (literally).

+1 on the Touptek or risingcam IMX 571. They're right in the price range.

I have two Touptek IMX571 cameras, one in color one is mono, each is cheap enough than other known brands.
