Rookie astrophotographer here, eager to learn!

I've been into visual astronomy since I was a kid, but I've only begun learning the astrophotography side of things here in the last 6 months. I'd like to learn planetary astrophotography first, but eventually, I want to progress to DSO imaging.

At the moment, I lack a lot of equipment for quality imaging DSO's with an SCT (auto-guiding camera, OAG, focal reducer, etc.), but I think I have a decent enough DSLR to improve at lunar and planetary imaging until it's time to empty the bank account. Over the years I've had to learn to pace myself with this expensive hobby.

I hope all are well during these difficult times.

Clear skies!

Marty, welcome to Astrobin from East Texas!  Astrophotography is a great hobby and I hope you enjoy it and stick with it.  Certainly more satisfying than rooting for the Cowboys!
