Hi Everyone!
I'm new to astrophotography (only been doing it for a few months) but I'm fairly experienced with visual astronomy and did some work in radio astronomy for a couple years. I got into astrophotography when I got asked to teach a class on telescope use at my local community college and was told that students would take photos as part of the course. Not wanting to teach something I was inexperienced at, I decided to give astrophotography a try and have come to find that I really enjoy it.
I'm in Los Angeles, CA (Bortle 9
) and use an 80mm f/7.5 apo and a Canon T7i to shoot from my home. Before the quarantine I also had access to my school's 11in f/10 SCTs. I'm still really new to photo processing (I'm using Nebulosity to capture and stack, photoshop/lightroom to touch up) and don't have much in the way of astrophotography equipment yet, but hope to learn a lot while pursuing this hobby.
Clear skies,
Ace
