Hello all,
I’d like to hear user experiences with this instrument the Borg 107FL f3.9 scope: https://astrohutech.store/product/b10739f/
I’m seriously looking at trying this as well as the Esprit 100. I’ve used the equipment data base here and have seen some nice pix as well as some not so nice. I’m particularly interested in how round the stars are and I am wondering how well flat the field is with the Borg. To me the Esprit is a slam dunk but I’m really interested in the Borg.

FYI I’m planning on using my 294mc pro for now but plan to get the 2600mc pro hopefully later this year.

Thanks!
Dale

I dont have the 107 f3.9 but have a different borg- 71 f3.9.
I am quite happy with what I get from this scope. You can see my latest image here:

Thank you for your input, do you know why there are some spaces in the star images? Thats something that I’m trying to stay away from. I know some of the WO scopes have these same artifacts and people use masks over the objective to fix that.

Some artifacts are caused by the 7870 reducer.  It is way too small for a full frame. The image captured is a full 26x24 frame.  The reducer causes some vignetting artifacts.
I would not have this problem with a dedicated and full size reducer.

Thanks for the info Ramv! So is the reducer a separate piece to the 71 or is it kind of built into the system like the 107?
