If you haven't already, I would post this on the Cloudy Nights market site. You will get a lot more exposure. And isn't that what we are all looking for in this hobby?

He posted there yesterday. And I agree, refractors are the way to go.

Hi Jerry,
Have you considered 'piggybacking' your refractor on the 8'? Or possibly a side-by-side mounting plate? I'm grateful for the opportunities that having both provides, and the Edge is a wonderful scope. Sure would hate to have you lose the ability for variation.

Hi Steve!    I just bought the Askar 130PHQ, a 5" refractor to replace the Edge.   You know the saying "The best telescope is the one you use the most".   Every time I take out my Esprit 100mm refractor I feel like a little kid, excited, eager to get to work.  But with the Edge, I don't have that feeling, it feels like work, but without the play element.   It has nothing to do with the Edge and everything to do with my own subjective experience.    I see you have, what looks like a mount from Software Bisque.  My humble AM5 could not support the Edge and a 4" or 5" refractor.

The seeing in San Francisco is usually never better than average, my camera, the ASI2600MC has a more appropriate  pixel and sensor size for the refractors than the Edge and I just cannot seem to find any enthusiasm for collimating.   I am willing to sacrifice some focal length for the small, sharp, pinpoint stars I get with refractors and also to maintain my enthusiasm for what is, as we all know too well, not an easy pursuit.

I'd rather see the Edge in the hands of someone who is really excited to use it.  I've seen excellent images with the Edge so if someone buys it who knows what they are doing, they'll be making better use of it than I would.

Hi Mike,

No, I've decided to keep the Edge and continue to learn how to image with it.

Thanks,
