Hello, I want to ask if there is a way to remove the dew shield of the William Optics FLT91 scope? I know it can be retracted but l'm trying to remove it to be able to put it in a travel bag. Can you please share with me if that's possible and how can I do it?Many thanks,

Yes take the locking screw out, and then just unlock the rear ring portion from main hood.

Just to confirm, is this the rear ring portion you are referring to? It should be unscrewed right?

Correct that’s the ring part. To get the ring off the scope as well I’m not 100% sure, you might have to remove the lens cell first. The hood portion should just Slide Over the cell

This is great. I didn't know it came off. Although I do have the original case mine came with and it fits in there with the dew shield.

I wouldn't recommend removing the lens cell as suggested! The easiest way is simply remove the scope from the dovetail  and close the dewshield down. It will then hopefully fit in your travel bag. Also if you remove the dewshield, the protective lens cap won't fit.

That’s definitely better for the protection of the lens. But are you sure the dew shield can slide down the train after removing the dovetail so decreasing the overall length of the tube?

I've just checked mine. Remove the scope by undoing the 2 clamps,  the dew shield then slides down to within 18mm of the front of the scope. You will have to pack the dovetail separately though.

Pictures as requested. The scope including reducer is 57cm long with the dew shield extended. Folded up it's 50cm and fits in the carry case. Hope this helps, Cs, Tony.
