Hello,

I have equipment for sale that I honestly would sell if I didn't need to. The equipment has only been tested and never actually used for anything meaningful. It's been lying in a cupboard for a year or two. I planned to travel with this, but my wife got pregnant, and the kid came. The rest is history.

FYI,

I have an extra Esatto 2".

The Borg comes with one as well

Interested. Do you have any images taken with the Borg?

Hello Roman,

I have taken some test subs, but that's about it. Unfortunately not very flattering as I took this from my balcony in the city, with no flat calibration after and no back focus adjustment, as you can see. But besides that, its works very well. These are 180s bubs stacked.
If you want the original subs I can upload them to a link for you.

Have you used the RST-135?  Can you give some specifics on the load you had on it and tracking / guiding results?

What camera was used with these subs? Just wondering how well corrected the Borg is

*** This load info you can find on their website, as far as the tracking goes, I didn't manage to use it much and I used on my wooden balcony so I guided around 0.8-0.6 average ***

*** I used the QHY268M. Im still having issues with this cameras sensor alignment on my Esprit 80. And the BORG is unforgiving when it comes to back focus. It needs to be spot on. You can view the raw sub file in the link I have provided. I managed one test and that's all I got out of this setup***

Here is a link to one Ha sub, 180 sec.

The stars show a lot of eccentricity, which doesn't seem to be due to guiding, since they're fairly round in the center. That's been my worry with this scope but this seems pretty extreme. Any thoughts on what's going on here?

Guiding on my wooden balcony always resulted in lousy guiding. It's not the scope because all my subs would look like this in that case. However, it's very unforgiving when it comes to back focus. You need to get it right.

Kind regards
Roger

I'm not sure that can be put down to guiding since the eccentricity varies over the frame. The stars in the center could be regarded as acceptably round. It might have more to do with the backfocus not being fully dialed in. Unfortunately, since one of the biggest question marks with this scope is whether one can actually get a flat field with it over a reasonably sized sensor, that sub isn't removing any doubts. I understand you haven't had the time with it to show what it can really do, but it would be tough for me to pull the trigger without something showing more promise. It's such a cool scope...in theory.

*** I understand. And you are right; this lens is very unforgiving to any misalignment with the imaging sensor. But the telescope has been sold***
