Hello everyone,

I added the comet catalog to Stellarium, which works fine on my desktop computer, but when I tried doing it for my astro laptop it won't work.

I see it in the Solar System list, but when searching for the object, it doesn't show up.

This is how I added the comets:
  • Configuration
  • Plug-Ins
  • Solar System
  • Import orbital elements in MPC format
  • Selected "Comets"
  • Selected "MPC's list of observable comets"
  • Get Orbital Elements
  • Checked all comets and "Add objects"



My desktop version is Stellarium 1.0 and my laptop one was an older version, so I installed a more recent version on the laptop (1.2), but it still doesn't work.

This is very depressing considering it's probably the only clear night to shoot C/2022 E3  

Any tips would be REALLY appreciated!



EDIT:[b] [/b]I couldn't find an easy solution and with time running out, I ended up removing Stellarium completely, including all cache/data related.
Removing and installing a fresh version of Stellarium fixed it. Reinstalling only did not.

If you encountered the same issue and found a solution that didn't involve a full fresh installation, please do post!
