Hi all,

Thank you very much for posting your images from this brand of cameras, i appreciate it, and i hope i can get images with mine too, and see more and more images posted here.

So, what is the settings as Gain and Offset you settled on so far?

A. For Broadbanding in LCG and HCG modes

B. For Narrowbanding in LCG and HCG modes

Hi Tareq,

gain and offset setting are camera-specific and depends also on the temperature you are setting, therefore I recommend to do a sensor analysis with your camera to find out the optimal settings for your targeted usage.

I did use SharpCap Pro, which provides a sensor analysis feature for this purpose.
I have a RisingCam ATR3-1700KPAcamera. Below is a sensor analysis in HCG mode at 0°C, offset 0, which I did with SharpCap.

You can set the gain values to do a fine grain analysis but you need to apply some trick in order to convince SharpCap to use these values during the analysis.
You have to enter the below script commands to add additional gain values, which are then used for the next sensor analysis run.

I operate my camera in HGC mode at 0°C with offset 0 and gain 178 for OSC imaging of deep-sky objects.

Hope this helps

Hi Gernot,

I didn't reply since last year as i was very busy and also very troubles with situations, but i did read this reply from you, thank you and very appreciated!

I will try to make the analysis with my camera, but i feel like i prefer others to answer with their settings so it can be like a start point or reference for me and others, if we are having very similar setup and conditions i don't see why the settings will be very very different, also with this kind of analysis i am not good in reading the results and then do the settings or decisions according to that, but it is a good point to make it and then know things better, maybe i can keep those analysis results as reference just in case, i didn't make any imaging since really long time and i have enough good equipment while others already did a lot in years, but now once i am back hopefully very soon then i will try to collect data in one year that is almost equivalent of others years collected data, because i have clear sky most of the year which will help a lot, also with like multiple setup it will be like i do 4 in 1 or 4x to what others did, let's see how it will turn out.
