Gradient Xterminator was i believe his first program quite a few years ago. I dont think many people use it anymore but i could be wrong.

It still works great and is a formidable alternative to DBE in Pixinsight if you're having issues you cannot overcome.
GraXpert
is also another alternative that I've had success with as well.
