What adapter does a Jackery explorer 500 need to connect to a standard 5.5 x 2.1 DC cable?

I just received the ASIAIR plus and tried to connect the power input cable to the Jackery Explorer 500 but realized that the standard 5.5 x 2.1 DC male does not fit!!

I have been searching all over the internet to find an adapter (female 5.5mm x 2.1mm 12 volt to male 6.5mm x 1.4mm) but I cannot find any.    I am finding 5.5 x 2.1 male to 6.5 x 1.4 female, but I need male to male…

Why in the world did Jackery use such a DC output port size?

Has anyone solved this?

Thanks!

Jerry

How are your soldering skills?

You can make a custom cable with these: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/171-6014-E

These also fit, but would require you to solder the 5.5x2.1 on the other side:
https://www.goalzero.com/products/6mm-output-6ft-extension-cable

As for why they included such a weird plug, I do not know... Irks me too

Urgh!  I don't want to bother soldering anything!   I think I've found an adapter that will work but first must confirm from Jackery exactly what type of plug and what size plug they're using for DC output.

Thanks for replying Brian!

You are correct, it uses the 6.5x1.4mm

Something like this would work. I couldn't find a 2.5mm inner diameter. I do know 2.1 -> 2.5 exist and are easy to find.

However, you might not be looking for adapter inception

That's what I thought.  But what is needed is a FEMALE DC 12V 5.5mm x 1.2mm to a MALE 6.5mm x 1.4mm.   I need to plug the AISAIR cable into the DC output of the battery-- that output port is female, not male.

What a mess.  I am unable to find a male to male adapter anywhere.

my Jackrey came with the correct cable. Maybe reach out to them.

Which battery did you buy?   I bought the Explorer 500.   Jackery told me that people have been calling them about missing adapters and cables.  All I got was the battery and a car-charging cable.

May I ask how you are powering your astro equipment?  Are you using a DC 5.5mm x2.1mm male plug?  If so what port are you plugging it into on the Jackery, and do you use an adapter?

Thanks!

I have a Powerstation 500 powering a Pegasus PowerBox Advance. I plugged in the included cable to the 12V outlet and into the 2.1mm input of the PPA.

Weird, because the AISAIR uses the same DC input plug, apparently, as the Pegasus, 5.5mm x 2.1mm.   And yet my battery only came with a  car charger with a 8mm plug on one end and a cigarette-lighter style plug on the other.  I just found on Amazon an 8mm female to 5.5mm adapter and bought it so I hope that works.  Weird that Jackery doesn't just supply the adapter for either the cigarette-lighter style output or the DC 6.5mm x 1.4mm output..
