Hi everyone,I have been an Astronomy enthusiast since I was 9 years old just after the Apollo 1 fire believe it or not.I bought my first telescope in 1973 for $80 at KMart, which I still own.It is a 114mm Tasco Focal Newtonian reflector on an equatorial mount, which got a lot of use in the early years but unfortunately the various situations in life made the hobby take a back seat on numerous occasions. On my retirement I bought a 356mm Orion XX14G Dobsonian thinking I would only be interested in visual astronomy. What I didn't take into account was the sheer weight of the scope and my interest in astrophotography starting to develop.

I am in the process of planning the construction of a rolloff roof shed of some sort on my concrete deck to permanently house the scope and a future rig for astrophotography.I was surprised by some of the images taken on this site with a scope like mine and was hoping to get some tips on ways to get the right camera gear for this scope and for a future rig which will be dedicated to astrophotography.I hope to have fun and meet some people who as crazy as me about looking up at the stars. Thanks Scott smile

Which mount?
What mount would you recommend for astrophotography, I was thinking either the ieq45 pro or skaywatcher eq6-r. In the future I plan to use two 80mm refractors. Currently, I have an 80mm refractor and an eq6 mount that is 15 years old.
