Spike yes or no?
In these days of full moon I did some tests with my new Askar FRA500 to see if the focal reducer worked well or not.
Flying over the fact that the stars are not beautiful in the corners, I noticed that the blue stars were not coming out of me. This is a problem that I have always encountered with my apochromats while with RC8 and Newton the blue stars came out immediately.
So with the 3D printer I created a spike mask and mounted it and I took this photo that as you can see is very "poor" as regards integration.
But the blue stars are out and this makes me angry.

In your opinion is it sacrilege to use a spike mask in an apochromat?

I'm seriously considering using it …

I've come to love diffraction spikes as long as they are real (caused by secondary supports or a physical mask). Software spikes never look good. Either way do what makes you happy there will always be someone who disagrees with something you like.
