the GOES-17 "nighttime microphysics" product is pretty awesome for keeping track of the fog. it only works right after sunset but clearly shows where Karl is after that. i don't know why these different science products seem to be scattered all around different universities, but for whatever reason, the College of DuPage has this product on their webserver:

Thanks Rob.  More than willing to give it a try.  I’ve used Astrospheric for about the past year and it’s been fairly predictive.  But realistically really no more than watching the temperature and dew point from the weather station in my yard in San Carlos.

indeed astrospheric is pretty good. also, the weatherunderground 10-day forecast also takes fog into account when computing cloud cover. the microphysics view is just nice to be able to tell what's going to happen in the hours after sunset and also when my imaging plan fails, i can go back and look at when it became foggy overnight just as a sanity check. an allsky cam would also confirm this but i've been too lazy to run mine for the last year or so.
