I have been using APT and Stellarium from the get-go and I have never had a problem with the objects I have imaged (which is very few) They are all visible within the program so after plate solving and syncing the scope I can see how my framing is going to be for the most part. Now I am interested in shooting a couple different objects that don't show up in Stellarium. For example I had LDN 1251 and sh2-115 on my list of things to do. When viewing these in Stellarium they are not visible. While LDN 1251 may be a little easier to frame I know sh2-115 will be very tricky just using stars as reference for the framing I want.
So my question is… Do I finally have to say good bye to APT and Stellarium? Is SGP the answer to my problems? Or am I missing something here?
