Tonight is the first properly clear sky in the south of England that I can remember for a few months, I know in these Summer months that we only get a few hours of darkness, but tonight it has meant:
1) I have been able to check the work I did in terms of upgrading my mounts bearings
2) I can see that my OAG now gets me to 0.6 arc seconds guiding with clear skies reliably
3) I can relax and watch TV/listen to music without worrying about the scope … i.e. it's just doing its stuff reliably .. in this case imaging M51
Now, what would be great is if I could get this kind of relaxed feeling even when clouds were rolling in.
Has anyone managed to crack the automation thing such that when clouds come in your gear pauses and resumes when the skies clear automatically?
