Hi peeps,
I'm a 35+ software developer from Ghent, Belgium. As a kid I had a general interest in space as many kids do, and had a Tasco refractor when Hyakutake graced our skies - then I really got bitten by the astro bug. Hale-Bopp only enforced that and soon I was hunting DSOs with a good sized dobsonian. Had to bury the hobby for about 15 years when studies, a job, a marriage and kids kept me busy but a while ago I rekindled the fire and started observing again with a C9.25 Nexstar Evo.
Trevor Jones' videos on youtube got me interested in AP, and seeing how other people online were capturing far more detail even in light polluted places like my backyard than I can see visibly on a darker site prompted me to pursue the path of AP and EAA.
Last summer I got my current setup: an AZ-EQ6, SW 80ED Esprit (f/5) and an ASI294MC. My current pictures are spread around the internet but I'm going to consolidate them here in the coming days/weeks. I got quite a few shots already (if I say so myself), short integration times yes but work, weather and health don't permit much more than 2-3 hours. CC on postprocessing is always welcome, I really like PixInsight and AstroPixelProcessor.
I hope you enjoy,
Benny
