Using CS lens + guider instead of cheshire eyepiece for collimation

Hi folks,

Has anyone used a CS lens with a guide camera instead of a cheshire eyepeice when collimating their Newtonian?

I'm assuming this actually works, and would provide a centered view down the focuser tube. Trying to determine which lens would be best to use with an ASI290MM mini.

Thanks in advance,

Nikko

Hallo Haakon,

Yes! That's exactly what I was imagining. The click-lock adapter for centering is a great idea, too. Thanks for sharing!

Vielen dank,
