Samyang 135mm infinity focus stop

I've just tried out my Samyang 135mm and found that the factory installed infinty focus stop is preventing me from getting fine focus.  I was aware that this could be an issue as I had researched this lens before I ordered it.  I have also seen some discussion and a video on Nebula Photos of how to remove the stop to allow focusing past infinity.  Anyone else experienced this and removed the focus ring stop?

You mean that you have used the lens with a stock DSLR and is not focusing at infinity?

Yes, I am using it with a Canon T6 APS-C.

Ok, this is odd and truly from my point of view unacceptable….

That happens while we are using something extra between them (filter, adapter-converter etc), or a modified camera

If I were you, I would send it back at once.

I have that lens and use it for AP and "regular" photography. It's paired with a Canon 80D and for AP a T3i. No issues reaching infinity focus. I'm thinking you have a bad lens and should return it.

I had the same issue, I followed a tutorial on how to remove the focus ring to take off the stopper. This allowed me to reach infinity no problem. Zero issues with the lens now.

The point here is that if the product is being used as it supposed to (stock camera) it is clearly not complying with the manufacturer specification. The infinity point must be reached by any stock dslr, (canon mount-canon dslr, Sony mount-Sony dslr etc.), period.
Of course there is a workaround and easy fix, but why the buyer should go down this way?

Sure, there are fixes. But why bother?
If your lens is still covered under normal returns and warranties, you should probably contact the vendor to find a solution that way, as it should be able to reach focus out of the box.

if you do start working away with a screwdriver, you will lose that warranty and option to return it in the future if other issues arise.

So, I'd start there.

Sure there are options for a fix later if that doesn't work, but for now, I'd aim to get a replacement to get a perfect lens out of the box
