Hello Astroheads!
I Currently have a Canon 80D
Just Won a IDAS NBZ Nebula Booster Filter - 52mm.

Wanted to ask how can I use this filter on my setup?
Is there any drawers for Crop Canon 52mm Filter?
Can i put the filter on top of the lens?
My lens is a Canon 135mm F2 - 72mm
The filter is 52

How can i use it??
Is there a 3d printable Mount for 52mm Filters to put on 72mm lenses??

Clear skies! 🙏

Hi, what you're looking for is a so called "step down adapter" or "step down ring" e.g.: Belmalia 8 Step-Down-Ringe Set, Objektiv-Filter-Adapter: 82mm 77mm 72mm 67mm 62mm 58mm 55mm 52mm 49mm: Amazon.de: Elektronik & Foto

Didn't do an extensive search whether you will need to stack multiple step down adapters or if there exists one single piece 72mm to 52mm. Be careful not to accidentially buy a step-up adapter which does just the opposite.

If I calculated properly you're going to lose about 50% light, i.e. about 1 stop.

On a side note I read somewhere that these step down rings could be used as a workaround in case you attach a lens to an astro camera and you can't stop down the lens.

Have fun and clear skies
