i found this link the other day that apparently uses GOES16 data to display the current fog situation in the bay area:

there used to be an animated fog prediction map on sfgate.com that was provided by underground.com, but i can't find that anymore. that's the 2nd time it disappeared, maybe this time for good?

here is one that works well only at night. it is the nighttime microphysics product from GOES-west.
