Attaching DSLR to HEQ 5 pro GoTo

Hi everyone! I'm starting my first astrophotography setup and I'm going to start with a HEQ5 Pro GoTo mount. Since it is going to be a long time until I buy a matching telescope for it, I would like to know if there's any way I could directly attach my DSLR with a lens to the mount to make some use of it during the meantime.

Attach a dovetail to the Camera body. 
Should be no problem? 
If you like you can assemble a ball head between cam and dovetail.
