I have seen in the forum, there was an initiative by Salvatore for imaging collaboration: Choose a target together, share raw, and everyone can process own picture. The advantage of the common work could be for example that also very dim objects can be targeted
It seems the original topic is not working at least I found only old entries.

Anyway I re-started the thread especially here in the SCT group, because I think this collaboration could work more effective, if the team members have similar equipment, similar FOV, similar resolution, and for example the C8, C9, C11 owners (or same size other manufacturers) could collaborate  more effectively.

If you think this has sense, suggest a target or share any idea which could make the work easier.

I yhink you will have more signal but your definition will be limited by the worse pict :-(

OK, but this is valid also if you use only 1 equipment. Raws must be sorted always before integration and reject the worse part.

Collaboration always makes a lot sense. Since there are so many good targets, I don't have a specific target in mind and would like to collaborate on almost any target.
Although I have to admit I'm biased towards galaxies smile Maybe one of Local Group dwarf members would be a good idea to start ?
IC 10 is pretty high nowadays. And later this year Leo A
In case we can gather lot of good quality subs, the outcome may be a blast.

IC10 sounds interesting and generally I'm with you regarding galaxies ! I created a secret group on facebook for this project. If you email me your facebook id, or fb-email I can invite you and discuss the details (csopet@gmail.com). Maybe easier to discuss the details privatly on fb.

Sure, let's see, I would be happy if there were more joiner, however, this is not the first time for me collaborating on a dim target  (see http://astrob.in/265227/B/) and according to my experiences, it is not always easy to coordinate more than 3 people in such a group   ;) .

Drop me a mail if you decided to collaborate and we can discuss the target, there are really many nice galaxies now a days.

Actually , dim targets are the best for such collaboration. And yes, coordination may be tricky, especially when the weather isn't that good. If the planning is done in advance, it should be easier to mitigate the weather risk.
Regarding IC10 ,it may be even to late for proper image aquisition. It would be nice to be able grab a few hours of data per night.
I'll think about a target for near future so we have enough time to prepare. Eventually somebody wants to join then.
