G’day friendly astro community people, I have a couple of beginner’s questions on imaging M31. It doesn’t rise above 16 deg from my location, Ive been imaging it from my local remote observatory between 10 - 16 deg and have around 13 hours of useable data (60s subs, Redcat 51, Asi533mc pro). So far the image has exceeded what I was expecting, BUT I have to push the saturation HARD, like ridiculously hard to reveal any colours, so my questions are:
Am I taking appropriate sub length for such a low target?
Is it normal to have to push the saturation so hard on this target?
Should I continue, ie will more time mean more colour with less saturation?
Any help, tips or advice on imaging low targets or M31 in general would be greatly appreciated.
