Hi. In August 2019 I purchased a QHY128C from an outlet in New Zealand. It cost me NZ$6,445. Ever since purchasing it I’ve had connectivity issues - not connecting to my laptop. I sent it back and they returned it. It worked for a few months after that - connecting and taking images. However, it then started to fail again. Frustrated, I put it in a plastic bag and stored it inside my house for a year or so. I gave the camera to the company in May 2026 and they stated that the chip had corroded and the camera was dead. It’s August now and they haven’t returned it.
I just phoned Citizen’s Advice asking if I should ould take leagl action against the company. CA replied saying that electronics goods have a life-expentancy of 5-7 years. This caused me to write this message asking what I should do and if a QHY128C should last longer than this. NZ$6,445 is a lot of money to spend on an item that gave very little service. I’ve emailed the company three times in recent weeks stating my disappointment with the product and asking for some sort of reimbursement. They have yet to reply.
What should I do?
Regards
John
