I have a few "Bucket List" targets - challenging one way or another for an amateur rig - Hoags Object, Huchra's Object, a couple of gravitationally-lensed quasars, and Longmore 8 (the Hamster Wheel)...
So what's on your list of "insane" targets ?

I thought I had one, but I must admit that I seem find these mad objects completely randomly as I zip around in Stellarium, NINA and SetiAstro in a state of panic to find something cool before the sun goes down.
I did embark on an Abell imaging journey, but it ended after a few objects, as the seeing conditions and my telescope wasn’t up to scratch.
Planetary Nebulae, Arp objects and obscure galaxies seems to be what I go for with my C9.25, though.
That said, I did check out Longmore 8, and I now have a list with exactly one object in it… :-)
I think it’s a smashing subject and I hope people have some more bucket list targets to share (especially on the Southern Hemisphere 😁).
