So I see that there are lots of IMX492 Mono sensor users out there, but a serious dearth of reviews about them. I understand that they have some amp glow, but no real info on how difficult it is to deal with. Are there any other cons?

Or an IMX585 if you want to go smaller/cheaper.
The best on the market is the QHY version which comes with camera, filters, OAG (everything you need) for less than the cheapest IMX571

Well, it's just amp glow. If you shoot proper darks and flat darks your calibration will be fine. There is no real info on it on the internet because it is not a complex topic.
Together with the IMX585 the IMX492 is one of the highest QE sensors you can get on the market. Technically with its hardware BIN1 and BIN2 mode, you get 2 sensors in one.
It is a good sensor, especially second hand.

I bought the ASI585MC AIR as my first camera, so I haven’t had to deal with darks at all.

I own a IMX585 OSC and love it.
That MINICAM8 is very tempting; I’m just looking for a larger FOV. I figure once I buy the filter wheel and filters for a larger sensor they will work on smaller cameras too.
