Ok so I can take an image and create a deep sky tic-tac-toe in seconds but I am guessing it’s not the point so what does that tell us exactly ?

The point of aberration inspector is to give you all edges of the frame in a easy to read mosaic. Aberration inspector is used to detect tilt, backfocus error, coma, field curvature or chromatic aberration. When you want to know how your system is performing optically, this is your go-to tool.
