The mystery of modules disappearing in PI after an update is nothing new, nor is it unique to the XTs. The PI team has always stated that they can't reproduce the issue, and to be honest, they've never really paid much attention to it.
In any case, the usual way to fix it is to perform a “Reset Updates,” which forces PI to reinstall all the updates.
