Minimum latitude for the Celestron AVX

Hi everyone! I live in a southern country just below the equator (8° 10’), so it’s hard for me to get new AP equipment without paying like 3 times the price.
Around two months ago I found a second hand Celestron AVX at a very good price.

The problem comes at whether it work just fine at 8° south or not. I did my research and found a post on Cloudy Nights where someone was asking if it was a good idea to use an AVX exactly on the equator, but most people said that it wasn’t (since it says the limit is 7°).

Would it be a good idea to buy it and use it at this latitude or would it just hit itself?

I also saw that some people on that post recommended pier extensions to use it on a lower latitude.

If so, what pier would be useful for the AVX tripod?

Thanks to everyone in advance! (And sorry for the bad english, it’s not my first language)

Arthur.

If it’s too close to the limit I would imagine you could bias thinks by tilting the tripod head a few degrees down towards the pole. This will have a very small effect when doing polar alignment but that’s about all.
