Power station with PD protocol for USB-C 12v remote power

I’ve acquired a Bluetti AC50B power station for remote imaging. The unit specifies two USB-C 65 watt ports that are PD protocol compatible. My all ZWO set up draws far less than this so it’s good for all-nighters. The issue I’m having is the USB-C to DC5521 adapter which contains a chip controller for the PD is somehow refusing to pass power through it. The adapter is rated for 100 watts (evidently needed for Starlink receivers) so it should be fine at my lower level. I can use the Bluetti in AC mode with my ZWO 12V 5A power inverters but they waste a lot in conversion. I’d prefer to go straight DC to DC. Anyone have a guess at what may be going on here? I know it may be faulty adapters but I’m not familiar with the PD protocol stuff so I may be trying to do something that simply can’t work.

The way I understand it, the PD device drawing the power negotiates with the power source for the proper power levels if the hardware drawing the power supports it. Unless I’m missing something, I’m not sure why your 5521 adapter needs to have a chip at all.
