Is this the only group to post topics and images taken from an inner city sky? I am interested in sharing and learning from other Astrophotographers out there who image from Bortle 8-9 skies. Thanks!

Often light pollution may mentioned in a post, but it is usually not the main issue of the post.  Poor weather conditions seem to get more attention.

Many imager use narrow band filters to combat light polution, as I do, but the filters quality and type tends to be more of the discussion.

I’ve been imaging for many years under Bootle 7-8 skies, initially just doing monochrome but then colour broadband in the last ~5 years maybe. I’ve found there are no secret tricks just long integration times without moonlight present to get the best results. I’ve had some success with RGB plus Ha and Oiii data combined. I don’t use LP filters though I have tried a Lumicon deep sky filter which just doubled integration times without enough improvement. Folks on AstroBin seem to have success with the Optolong L-pro filter.

I just bought a Optolong L-pro filter. The first Photo I took looked like H-alpha the background and the target are very red. I use a modded canon RP and APP and Affinity Photo for the processing. Has any body any idea how to deal with this.
Thanks!
