Zwo filter wheel not found in TheSkyX on Mac (M4)

Zwo filter wheels (any) do not come up as a selectable option under the filter wheel tab in imaging system setup. I can access my Zwo filter wheel through ASICap. Fully functional. Regardless whether the wheel is connected directly to my Mac or to the hub on the back of my camera (asi6200MM). No issues at all. Yet, TheSkyX sees nothing. My Zwo camera and EAF ARE seen. Selectable in set up menus and perform without issue.

Version of TheSkyX running (at least 2 of my Zwo devices): 13479

  • I did update to version 14047 and this erased all 3 of my Zwo devices. None were recognized by version 14047. Removing The SkyX entirely from my Mac and reinstalling version 13479 restored connectivity to my Zwo camera and EAF. My Zwo filter wheel (7X50mm) remains undetectable. My Paramount MX+ connects just fine.

It has been quite the adventure trying to simply return to what was working fine before. One day I might actually be able to enjoy astrophotography again. What a concept!

ANY SUGGESTIONS!?*

  • I have downloaded and installed the specific filter wheel X2 driver for TheSkyX (for Mac) from Zwo’s website. No joy. The camera and EAF don’t seem to need additional drivers and are seen by and operate correctly in TheSkyX.

ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!???

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi Jack,

I’m a TSX user on Windows only but I recently experienced issues with ZWO gear. Here is a snippet from my exchange with ZWO Tech Support that may help a bit:

“TheSkyX is now open source, so there most likely will not be any further official firmware or driver updates in the future [for ZWO from Software Bisque]. Users may check the related open-source project pages and community resources for more information.

In my case the GitHub plugin installs worked fine.

Good luck!

Gary
