RCC Request for Feedback and Honest Critique of my M16 (Pixinsight User)

Just looking for a honest and blunt critique of my M16 in SHO.

I think it’s too blurry and over-saturated for my taste. However, I have been seeing a lot of very saturated images getting a lot of positive attention, so I thought I’d give it a try.

I also struggled with the stars. These are RGB stars that I added into the SHO image, but I don’t think I took enough RGB images to do the stars justice.

I inserted a JPG below or a better version can be seen here: https://app.astrobin.com/u/tom62e?i=a68z80#fullscreen

Thanks,

Tommy

I agree, it is a bit too neon but that’s the style these days. My biggest problem with it is that it’s very pixelated with just a little bit of zoom. You didn’t say what camera was used but It looks like an extreme crop to try and gain image scale but the resolution of the image just doesn’t support it. If you want that you might have been better off just imaging at prime without the reducer. It might not have higher resolution but it would be smoother.

Your star colors are good but in general the stars are a bit bloated, I am guessing for the same reasons stated above.
