Looking for specific 300PDS user feedback!
I’m considering a 300PDS over the summer and I’m wondering what kind of improvements users have found to be necessary out of the box. The usual suspects when I read about these reflectors seem to be the focuser, spider, primary mask, light leaks around the focuser/primary, cooling fan for the primary (and I’m sure I’m missing something). I would also need to consider dew prevention as that is a huge issue with rapid shifting temperatures during autumn. Are the collimation screws decent/holding well?
First and foremost I want this telescope for planetary objects - but I also want it to double down as a “semi-lucky” DSO imaging setup, so any specific feedback on coma correctors to avoid/consider is also much appreciated - Or if they are strictly needed if paired with a 585/678/715 camera considering the small sensors.
In short I want to get the full picture regarding “hidden costs” before I make my decision.
PS: I know how heavy it is ;)
