I am considering the iOptron iAFS2 2" Auto Focuser for use with my Apertura CarbonStar RC8. I am currently using the stock rack and pinion focuser with the inexpensive Gemini Pro auto focuser. Having considered other options, such as “high accuracy” models that attach to the fine focus shaft, I think I would prefer the iAFS2 which claim a minimum step size of 0.6 microns. The ESATTO 2” focuser is double the cost.

If any of you have experience with this focuser, I would appreciate any feedback.

The goal is to provide the best possible focus at the longer focal length of around 1600mm or 1100mm with a reducer.

Any experience with this equipment? Any thoughts?

Thank you.
