Hi everyone,
I am currently working on a project to significantly upgrade the stability of my setup. I have a Aze6pro head and a e8qr pro pier at home and i would like use them together.
The Challenge: There isn't a native adapter for this combination. The EQ8 tripod features a large flat base with a non-removable (press-fit) azimuth pin, while the EQ6/AZ-EQ6 series requires a central M12 bolt and a different azimuth peg position.
My Solution (The "Brake Disc" Hack): I’m exploring a DIY approach using a car brake disc as a custom flange.
The "hat" or bell of the brake disc serves as a perfect cavity to hide the EQ8's original azimuth pin without having to grind it down or damage the tripod.
It provides a wide, perfectly flat surface for the AZ-EQ6 base.
It adds even more mass to the lowest point of the mount.
Any ideas? Anyone could do this modification?
thanks in advance
