Hi All

Thought I would kick off a UK imaging group. Here we will mainly talk about the weather and our frustrations with it.
On the rare occasion we are not we can discuss imaging, current targets, processing and general points of interest.

May also be nice to find out who is in UK and make some new acquaintances.

Hi Paddy, I see all these AB groups being created, but I don't know how they work. Are you wanting me to post my images? How is that different to posting them to my own page - it seems like duplication to me. I get the idea of knowing who is imaging from the UK and maybe UK centric imaging challenges, so that will be good to see. I'll no doubt learn more as the group matures.

Like you I just saw they were being created so set up the UK one no planning or through involved beyond that. I posted images up that i have done in the UK as I felt obliged to do something as I have started a group. No expectations as unless it has some relevance to the conversation, it is as you said duplication.

I suppose if you post to a group it alerts users to it via a new channel but that is down to the user should they wish to do.

Hopefully will just be a place where us cloud dodgers can talk about UK topics and maybe make some local acquaintances etc. At least there is a place for it now which is good.

Hopefully as it grows it will include updates on various events and the like in the UK which I always seem to miss as never hear about!

I added an image - though after adding it I realised I took it remotely from crete - should I delete it as it was not uk based - opinions sought

You qualify as a UK imager so don't see an issue with the picture being here. Not really about showcasing images more a forum for us UK people and general chat location.

I will start another link on IAS ideal topic.

Hi Matt,
I will be at Kelling in the run up to the main week end, but not actually the weekend. I just moved to Norfolk about an hour away from Kelling, but hadn't booked anything until a couple of weeks ago. All they had left was one of the log cabins Monday-Friday, so I took that. No pitch to set up any gear, but that's ok, I'm sure I'll get to look around…. Which field will you be on - red, yellow or blue?

In the header text of the Cloudy Nights group it states that: "This is an Automatic Submission group. If you join, all your public images will continue to function as normal, but they will also be shown here. The intent is to provide a consolidated place for viewing new images."
Is this some setting that we can enable to avoid having to make sure we add an image to the group after uploading or forget to add to group? Any idea?

When i set i chose not to auto upload - for users like me it will show all offshore data as well. I pondered if people would like all images updated on a auto basis or not happy - don't think that is an option that i can change. If people would like though i could delete this group and recreate - any thoughts?

My thinking (which is often flawed!) was that if you have uploaded you can chose if you want to add to group rather than all being added regardless of your choosing.

I think keeping the group for discussion and any selected photos that someone ones to share, maybe to ask advise, or use as an example, or discussion point would be a better use of the group. I agree a few images are ok but don't need to overload it with them all - we can always look up fellow group members images ourselves

Hey guys. I can change the autosubmission state if you want, and that will remove all images currently in the group.

I'll be tucked away in the corner of the Blue field next to the Red one. I'll have a Mewlon and a tiny TS60 on a StarAdventurer, so you will need eagle eyes

I too think that most geographical groups should be autosubmission. Like "hey, here's all the pictures from the people from the UK". Nobody tells you can't have another group "UK Best Of" where you submit your best ones :-)

Anyway, ASAP I'll make the autosubmission value user-changeable, where you get a choice to keep or remove all the existing pictures if you go from autosub non non-autosub. If you go from non-autosub to autosub, instead, it's a no brainer: all the images are removed and they are replaced with the full set of all public pictures of the current members.

Sounds good Salvatore - I agree, local interest groups or specialist groups need not be about every image. New features looking good too BTW - well done.
