Struggling with gradient artifacts around stars in mosaic merge

Hello,
Im learning how to do mosaic but Ive been struggling quite a bit with the merge. I’m trying to follow the usual steps “ MosaicByCoordinates → dnalinearfit → GradientMergeMosaic”. I’ve tried to do merge with and without BE/Denoise and play around the settings but it seems that I keep getting this kind of gradient around the the stars (see image). Depending on the merge setting its stronger/weaker but its always there. Is there anything I’m missing or that I can do to improve the merge?
Kind Regards

Are you seeing the artifact in stars along the edge of one of the mosaic panels, or is it everywhere? I had issues with GradientMergeMosaic when a bright stars fell on the edge of one of the panels. Adjusting the crop can fix the issue, but if you have a dense star field, it can be a game of whack-a-mole. I recommend using PhotometricMosaic instead. I find it a lot more reliable than GradientMergeMosaic. It’s a third party plugin. The repository for it is https://pixinsight.astroprocessing.com/

Hello! That is exactly what is happening, some of my brightest stars are on the edge of the panels. I will check your recommendation thank you a lot.
