Hi,

I encounter some issue with my player one Poseidon C pro.

It’s a telescope on a pier on western Europe weather.

I have some leaks on the sensor (never opened). See picture attached.

What are you recommendation?

Is that possible to remove the front glass and clean the sensor or do I have to send it to Player one?

If I do it myself, what are the ways to keep moisture outside the camera after cleaning?

That looks like something is bleeding out of the cover glass seal on the back side. I would talk to PlayerOne and send them this same image. I suspect that it’s something they will have to deal with. You could try and remove the glass and clean it but you may very well loose the integrity of the seal if you do.

I’m with Tony on this one, send it to Player One for repair.

I have a vacuum chamber I dry components out in from time to time, or vacuum treat things to dry them out. But I would advise against trying to service your camera’s sensor.

Besides, if Player One (or anybody) services it, it should come with some sort of warranty of their workmanship.

PlayerOne customer support is excellent. I’ve talked to them twice and both times had my issue resolved promptly. Give them a shout and they’ll get it sorted.

That’s a manufacturing defect. Send it back. I doubt they’ll even question it. I had this happen on another brand camera, they took it in no questions and replaced the whole camera for me.

That is exactly what used to happen to the IMX571 ZWO cameras a few years ago. There were many posts on CN and SGL showing similar issues.

I think it was related to issues with oil leakage from the thermal pad used to cool the sensor.

After a few complaints and initial issues where owners of said cameras were advised to clean the sensors themselves, ZWO acknowledged the issue and offered free replacements and repairs, with lifetime warranties.

Here’s a disclaimer on their website:

I am confident if you contact Player One, they should offer you something similar.

I think the issue has been resolved with the newer production batches, circa 2022-2023 onwards.
