Pegasus Astro Indigo OAG with Helical Focuser - Looking for Feedback from Owners

Hi all,

If you are a user of the Pegasus Astro Indigo OAG with Helical Focuser, I have a question for you.

I recently purchased this piece of equipment. It arrived in an old, dirty box without any foam. The OAG was in a small ziplock-style bag just lying inside the box. Because there was no foam, the OAG bounced around inside this box the entire trip to my doorstep.

I suspect this unit is used, which wouldn't be the first time I received used equipment from Pegasus Astro when I ordered new. So my question to any users out there; did yours arrive in a box with no padding or foam (see the picture below)?

I bought the Indigo and the OAG seperate. Both were absolutely new and perfect packed with fitting Inlays.

Claim it ! You have the right to get brand new goods.

Sounds like you bought from some eBay scammer.

If it is No Returns, you are clicking the wrong place.

I have 3 Pegasus items and as happy as can be with them. All bought through Pegasus Astro website, and Agena Astro.

With my Falcon2 rotator I wanted to test it on my desk. Then it would not work again. I emailed Pegasus Support on a Sunday evening and expected to have to wait a while. The next morning I had an email from George in Greece apologizing and a link to a firmware update. I reluctantly ran the update and my Falcon2 has been great every since.

I’ve have nothing but praise for my Pegasus equipment. I started with a Flat panel 150, got their focuser when ZWO Service was running me around with my EAF, and then when I bit the bullet and got my rotator.

I blame my rotator trouble on me being impatient and bench testing my rotator. George gave me the complete fix in an email. Real customer service.

You could email them and see what they say, but I think you screwed yourself. Now you want to blame it on Pegasus. That’s my honest opinion.

See if you can return it and then buy from a reputable source.

I have no issue with the equipment, it’s the a repackaging of previously sold equipment that I’m upset about.

And No, I did not buy from eBay. The first time it was HPS, the second time it was Woodland Hills.

No idea who HPS is. But Woodland Hills is a brick and mortar store. If you are not happy they should give you a refund.
I’d be on the phone with them in a New York second.

Anyway, here’s a link. They are actually not far from me. I bought my Tamron 150-600mm telephoto lens from them long time ago. Internet order.

Oh, well sure I know High Point Scientific. I even bought from them in the ancient past.

But as I recall, the shipping wasn’t fast enough for me. I’m a real stickler about shipping, somebody is slow or the item hits too many backwater Post Offices I don’t repeat the mistake. I’m a customer and won’t order from crappy businesses.

But both delivered new items in new packaging. I recommend you call Woodland Hills and ask to return the item. Maybe they will offer a discount due to the state it came to you in?

I ordered my big lens from Woodland Hills because they had it in stock. And I got it quickly from them. My preference has been Agena Astro for many purchases. Mostly because they usually get the item to me overnight. Mostly because they take care of business.

But nobody should get less than new products in new packaging unless it is part of a discounted item. That is bad business.
