Wait, they're asking for $1,000 but they are not telling you the purchase price???

That's crazy.

4K AUD seems cheap for a FSQ. FSQ85’s regularly go for 5k AUD used, and I doubt 5mm extra aperture is going to provide a 1K premium in price?

I look forward to seeing reviews, and really, it’s about time… I can’t see a world where I’d buy a FSQ80 over an Epsilon 160ED though.

This is a direct-from-JP price. The FSQ85 on the website above is ~$2500aud - but costs 3x that from Aussie distributors. Of course if something goes wrong you have to ship back to JP… Caveat emptor..

Is this new fsq-80fc a dorect replacement for the fsq106 ?

I want to wait for the new FSQ 106

Opened a ticket on Takahashi America and they said it is a replacement but dont know for sure if it is a Takahashi answer or they send it to an authorized reseller and they told me this

No, it’s to replace the babyQ 85

I did not know you could buy the tak directly from Japan so cheap…. Makes me feel silly now buying the sharpstar 15028HNT and not a tak epsilon 160…

If you are in the U.S., that's not an option. There are no Japanese dealers that will ship to the U.S. so you would have to travel to Japan and pick it up yourself. Some used to but Tak got word of it and told dealers if they didn't stop they would be eliminated as a Tak dealership.

Dunk and I are both in Australia… I am very interested now in the idea of transitioning to a Tak Epsilon… Maybe even the 160ED!

I have one on order…gave serious consideration to flying to Japan just to get one (overall cost would be lower). Giving up a 5 year warranty is pretty risky though. It has been made clear if you go through any non-traditional route you lose any warranty protection.

I have an Epsilon and an FSQ ;-)

Feel free to PM me with questions - I love them both.
